PEMDAS Technology Assignment
Select from one of the following assignments. Each project integrates the Order of Operations with technology and writing.
OPTION A – FB post
Find a post on Facebook that asks you to solve a problem using order of operations. Print off or “screen shot” the post and the list of incorrect answers. Then, on a separate sheet of paper, solve the problem correctly using the order of operations. Be sure to show each step of your order of operations using complete sentences. Using the list of incorrect answers on the Facebook post, find one or more posts that demonstrate a common order of operations mistake and explain this mistake.
OPTION B – Calculation
Using the problem below, describe (using complete sentences) how to use your calculator to solve this problem correctly. At the top of your essay, please list your name, class period and type of calculator used. Also include in your paper an explanation of common mistakes that might be made when using a calculator to solve this problem.

OPTION C – App
Find two apps that use order of operations to solve a problem. One app must solve a problem correctly. The other app must produce an incorrect answer. For your assignment, list the names of the two apps you discovered. In addition, state the problem you used and the respective answers that were found by the two apps. Explain how the correct answer was reached using complete sentences. Then, explain how the incorrect answer was reached by identifying where the mistakes were made.
