JOB DESCRIPTION: Kitchen Assistant

SUMMARY: Assistant Cooks help the Cook and Head Cook to provide high quality food for WCRC guests in a timely hospitable manner.

SUPERVISOR: Cook, Kitchen Manager and Director of Guest Services

GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS

• Has committed faith and belief in Jesus Christ as personal savior

• Desires to serve the Lord and make him known to others

• Agrees with WCRC’s mission, core values and faith statement

• Is flexible and able to work with others

SPECIFIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Has an interest and willingness to learn about Food Service.

• Is sixteen years of age or older

• Is dependable and motivated

• Is physically able to perform tasks, including lifting up to 50lbs

• Is able to follow written and oral instructions

• Is willing to work in harmony with others

• Holds a current James City County Food Handlers Certificate or is willing to obtain a certificate upon employment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assists the cook in meal preparation, serving and clean up

• Assist with completing shift leader paperwork with instruction from the Cook
