Abingdon Central PCN consists of two large GP practices (The Abingdon Surgery and The Malthouse Surgery) with a combined list size of around 35,000 patients. Both practices have an excellent record of delivering excellent care for their patients. The PCN model has provided the opportunity to diversify the number of specialist roles on offer for our patients, which includes the role of Pharmacy Technician.We are seeking an enthusiastic and forward-thinking pharmacy technician to join our like-minded PCN. The successful pharmacy technician candidate will play an important role in complementing our clinical pharmacists and other members of the PCN multi-disciplinary team. This is an evolving job role with huge scope for development as we expand our PCN team further over the years.It is a requirement of the role to be registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council as a Pharmacy Technician. Responsibilities Support the role of PCN Clinical Pharmacists in the delivery of clinical pharmacy servicesPerform medicines improvement work to maximise safe, cost-effective best practice in prescribing under the supervision of the GP or Clinical PharmacistAssist with medication safety monitoring systems (e.g. high-risk drugs)Liaise with clinicians and administrative staff to resolve medicine-related queriesMonitor practice prescribing and adherence to practice, local and national prescribing policiesImprove service and quality through mechanisms such as auditsExperience4+ years of customer service experienceComfortable working in a fast-paced environmentExemplary verbal communication and customer service skillsQualificationsBTEC/NVQ diploma level 3 pharmacy qualification (or above)Must possess GPhC registrationBenefits5 weeks annual leave plus 8 days public holidays (pro rata)Highly competitive remuneration package with progression opportunitiesNHS Pension SchemeHigh focus on training and developmentPart of the two biggest practices in AbingdonSatisfactory pre-employment and Disclosure and Barring Service ChecksThis role is subject to satisfactory pre-employment due diligence checks, the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and a request for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service. ................
