POSITION: Class Size Reduction – Middle School Physical Education/Health

LOCATION: Middle/High School

DESCRIPTION: One Year Position

PREFERENCE: A Certificated teacher with experience teaching Physical Education

QUALIFICATIONS

• Ability to teach middle school physical education and health.

• Knowledge of The National Health Education Standards (NHES).

• Knowledge of SHAPE America’s (Society for Health and Physical Educators) National Standards that define what a student should know and be able to do as result of a quality physical education program

• Appropriate Washington professional education certification.

• Desired teacher characteristics include flexibility; ability to organize ideas, time, and materials to accomplish goals; enthusiasm; ability to express ideas clearly; ability to learn new ideas and skills; ability and willingness to develop favorable relationships with students; knowledge of current approaches to teaching with an emphasis in diagnosing and improving student writing willingness to model behavior deemed appropriate by the District and the community.

• Willingness to participate in district safety program

• Washington State Patrol Background Check

• F.B.I. Fingerprint Check

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Salary is determined by the AEA Agreement.

• Position is funded by limited ESSER funds. Class size reduction requirements necessitate this opening. This position will not be offered after the 2021-2022 school year.
