Piston Assembly

The assembly mates must be set up to animate the assembly as expected to move given that there is no cylinder yet. In the final assembly only the Piston and the Connecting Rod have visible motion. (Piston Pin can spin but does not create visible motion).

The Piston Geometry

The Piston

And

[pic]

The plane of the sketch is 20 mm from the plane passing through the center of the piston (Front Plane).

The Connecting Rod

I only check the 80 mm distance and the shape and proportions.

[pic]

The depth of extrusion is 21 mm.

The Connecting Rod Surface Profile

[pic]

The large fillets are R=10 mm and the small fillets are R=5 mm

The Piston Pin

Match the diameter of the “Crank Shaft” with the Connecting Rod Hole – the Length of the Crank Shaft is up to you.

[pic]

The Piston Pin must be and remain centered with respect to Connecting Rod and the Piston diameter.
