Stay tuned to your email as the R.E.P. program team will be directing R.E.P.s in the coming weeks to clean up their directory of activities and will provide the necessary instructions and aids. To view this information please visit the R.E.P. archive library where the Step by Step Instructions and FAQs can be found under the header “2015 R.E.P. eBlasts & Announcements”.Attend an informational webinar by visiting the training tab (ongoing). Align your current courses with the PMI Talent Triangle in the updated online CCR system which will be released on 18 July 2015. The R.E.P. program team will be directing R.E.P.s in the coming weeks to align their activities to the Talent Triangle and will provide the necessary instructions/aids to accomplish this goal via email.Create new courseware to align to the PMI Talent Triangle (optional).Educate students on how changes will affect them (ongoing).

10Can courses be classified as more than one skill area of the PMI Talent Triangle?Yes. Courses can be classified under multiple skill areas (Technical Project Management, Leadership, Strategic and Business Management) of the PMI Talent Triangle.

11When will I be able to align my courses with the PMI Talent Triangle or enter new ones? The updated CCR system will be live on 18 July 2015. The R.E.P. program team will be directing R.E.P.s in the coming weeks to align their activities to the PMI Talent Triangle and will provide the necessary instructions/aids to accomplish this goal via email so watch your email.

12What happens if I do not align my courses with the PMI Talent Triangle before the system goes live to all certification holders (December 2015)?Courses that are not reclassified before the updates go live may not appear in the search filter or search results, and will not have associated PDU information when certification holders try to claim PDUs for the activities. Therefore it is imperative that all necessary changes are made prior to the go live date.

13R.E.P.s find significant value in delivering CAT-A PDUs today. Will the same pre-approved PDUs process apply to the updated CCR program and system?Yes. The same R.E.P. pre-approved logic will apply in the new system.

14For which activities will certification holders be able to earn and claim PDUs?Certification holders will be able to earn and claim PDUs for all of the activities they could in the past including: taking courses, attending educational activities and events, reading or participating in self-directed learning activities like reading a book, creating new project management knowledge, volunteering, working as a project practitioner.

15How can I help my students to prepare for the upcoming changes? You can communicate what you’ve learned here about the CCR program updates to your students and inform them that more details will be made available and communicated in the near future.

How to Categorize the PDU Activities According to the PMI Talent Triangle?

Fortunately, for most premium PMP / PMI-ACP educational courses and seminars, the education providers, such as PMI Registered Education Providers (R.E.P.), would do the hard work for you. If you are attending PMI seminars, the PDUs will even be reported automatically to your PMI account with the appropriate skill areas tagged for you. There is no differences for the reporting steps. However, for other education courses that are not targeted solely at PMP or PMI-ACP, the Certification holders would need to categorize the activity themselves. PMI has issued a flyer that provides many examples of the kinds of activities that would be counted towards a particular skill area of the PMI Talent Triangle:

Technical

Domain expertise; the same PDU not applicable to all Certifications

Agile practices [PMP, PMI-ACP]

Earned value management [PMP, PMI-ACP]

Governance (project, program, portfolio) [PMP]

Lifecycle management (project, program, portfolio, product) [PMP, PMI-ACP]

Requirements management and traceability [PMP]

Risk management [PMP, PMI-ACP]

Schedule management [PMP]

Scope management (project, program, portfolio, product) [PMP]

Leadership

Competitive analysis

Customer relationship and satisfaction

Industry knowledge and standards

Legal and regulatory compliance

Market awareness and conditions

Operational functions (e.g. finance, marketing)

Strategic planning, analysis alignment

Can a PDU Activity be Reported in More Than 1 Skill Areas?

Yes, just as PMI allows Certification holders to report PDU to be reported in multiples of 0.25 PDU, PDUs

earned in Category A and B can be reported in multiples of 0.25 PDU.

For example, if you attend a course (with 2 PDU) with focuses on Technical Project Management (3/4 of

the course) and Leadership (1/4 of the course), you can claim:

1.5 PDU for Technical Project Management

0.5 PDU for Leadership
