Online Text: In addition to the textbook, there is an on-line component available that provides access to the textbook and other features. Please follow the instructions below on how to care for your interactive composition notebook—Basic Materials Needed (additional materials may be required for projects):Composition Notebook (100 Sheets, color/design does not matter)Pencils (preferably non-mechanical)Glue stickColor pencils (markers tend to bleed through paper)ISN Basic Setup:Write your NAME, CLASS PERIOD AND SUBJECT on front coverNumber pages in the bottom-left (for odd numbers) and bottom-right (even)You will use the front and the back of each page. The front and back will be numbered differentlyFirst three pages are Table of Contents (front and back). Write the title, “Table of Contents” on the topOn each Table of Contents, create a column for the DATE, next column for TITLE OF ASSIGNMENT, and last column for PAGE NUMBERISN ManagementDo not tear out pages from your notebookKeep the Table of Contents up-to-dateListen and follow directions as instructed to keep ISN organizedNo other subjects/drawings are kept in your ISNAssignments/Grades, and Absentee Work Responsibility is an ongoing process, and it begins with knowing whether you are on track with your academics when in class or not in class.Assignment/GradesMajority of assignments are classwork. Homework is any classwork not completed during class timeGrades will be based on points. Majority of classwork will be worth the same amount of points. Tests and projects will be much moreAssignments are based on the standard and whether the student can do the standard. TestsTests are given to assess students’ knowledge and skill. Will be given periodically (formally/informally) to see progressSemester Exams: Taken at/near the end of every semester on the content covered in that semester (some might contain previous semester material). Semester exam is a regular test grade.End of Course Exam: Taken at the end of the year is a testAbsentee WorkWhen absent, it is the student’s responsibility to check with teacher (before/after/during homeroom) what assignments were missed or were added to the ISNStudents are to complete assignments by the number of days absentTest Re-do ProceduresWhen you score below a 75%, you have the option to redo an assignment, please follow the procedure in such a case—Look over your test and results. Review your notes, and ask any clarifying questions about content On a separate piece of notebook paper, please write the questions that are incorrect, and write the correct answer in complete sentencesIn addition to the correct answer, write a brief explanation on why the answer you wrote down was incorrectStaple your original test to the notebook paper. Write when you would like to take the retest: write the date, and time (before school/after school/during homeroom (indicate which lunch))Notice for retest should be give a day before scheduled dateAssistance/TutoringIf you need further assistance with concepts, notebook or additional review, I am willing to help before and after school. Please see me to schedule an appointment.Class Website: Provides copies of assignments, addition resources to assist youDiscipline ProcedureIn order to maintain a safe, efficient and effective classroom environment for all, students will be expected to follow the procedures and expectations outlined. If unable to do so, teacher will use the school-wide process of the Behavior Intervention Form for consequences towards non-compliance. Cell Phone/Technology Technology and devices (cell phones, tablets, etc.) will be used in the classroom as part of structured lessons; however, it is the student’s responsibility to keep track of their own device. When technology is not used, it should be in student’s backpack Technology consent-to-use form needs to be used prior to use.Procedures for Daily TasksNon-verbal signals are used in the classroom to indicate the common tasks in the classroom to prevent disruptions and guarantee efficient use of class time.
