The Quality Supervisor is accountable for management of the Measurement Lab, Receiving Inspection process, Quality Planning for New Products, Corrective and Preventive Action process, and the Quality Management System (QMS).

Nature and Scope
This position reports to the Director of Quality, Amesbury+Truth Business, Hardware Operations, based in Owatonna, MN. The Quality Supervisor is a working manager position, functioning as a manager approximately 30% and continuing to work as a Quality Engineer approximately 70% of the time. These time splits will vary based on organizational projects and prioritization of daily activities.
The role manages Quality process activities necessary to ensure effective and efficient Quality Planning and measurement of purchased and manufactured products and components. The incumbent for this position reviews technical documentation submitted by new product teams for accuracy, completeness, quality, and integrity related to Quality Planning and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP). This position also facilitates the investigation of customer complaints and corrective/preventive action requests with appropriate cross-functional reporting and facilitation. Communication and interaction with customer representatives is likely during the execution of these responsibilities.
This position requires a creative individual with five to seven years of progressively responsible manufacturing, engineering, Quality or equivalent technical experience. The job requires the ability to travel occasionally. The position supports sales, marketing, operations, and procurement staff for supplier interaction and evaluation, technical meetings, and customer support.
Principal Accountabilities
• Manage Measurement and Receving Inspection Labs and technicians/auditors to provide high-quality and timely assessment of products and components.
• Guide technical staff in best practice and industry standard process activities including, but not limited to: Gage R&R, capability studies, calibration practices, measurement techniques, and PPE/PPAP protocols.
• Provide Quality Planning for new product programs and parts/assemblies to ensure that pre-production and production are properly assessed for capability by statistical objective evidence.
• Plan, document, and administer internal audit of the Quality Management System (QMS), including documented report of findings and assignment of corrective/preventive actions to address non-conformities and opportunities for improvement.
• Manage the Corrective Action Request (CAR) Database and ensure its effective, timely processing for required corrective/preventive actions.
• Provide feedback to staff, as required to keep staff informed on progress to plan and to ensure alignment with assignments, time frames and cost parameters. Regular performance reviews, coaching, and overall development of the staff is an ongoing requirement.
• Work closely with peer team leaders in solving or preventing issues related to design, process, or QMS.
• All other duties, as assigned.
Educational Requirements
A two-year technical year degree is required, as a minimum. A four-year degree or additional certification (e.g. ASQ) is preferred. Relevant experience with a record of proven results may substitute for the degree requirements.

The incumbent is required to practice good housekeeping skills and report all safety hazards to his/her supervisor in order to promote a safe working environment for all Amesbury+Truth Hardware personnel and outside visitors coming into our facilities.
