Deb Walock is the Manufacturing Engineering Manager at Bobcat in Bismarck, North Dakota where she oversees the manufacturing engineering, tooling engineering and the production planning and inventory control staff. Walock serves as an advisory board member for the North Dakota University Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering Department where she has been a member since 2001.

Deb Walock earned her BS in Industrial Engineering and Management from North Dakota State University in 1996. During her college experience, she held Cooperative Education positions at Medical Concepts Development in Woodbury, MN, Bobcat in Gwinner, ND, and at Case Corporation in Fargo, ND.

Prior to joining Bobcat in 1997, Walock worked at Andersen Consulting (now Accenture) as an analyst. In 1997, she accepted the opportunity to come back to Bobcat in Gwinner, ND as a Manufacturing Engineer in the fabrication area. Walock has also held Bobcat positions as a Sourcing Specialist, Procurement Manager, Assembly General Foreman, and Oracle Business Systems Manufacturing Lead. In each of these roles, the background of industrial engineering has served her well focusing on people, processes, and systems. Throughout her career, she has attended a number of training courses on lean six sigma, lean manufacturing, Demand Flow Technology, and leadership. She is currently pursuing her MBA through the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University in a specialized curriculum for Ingersoll Rand employees.

Deb’s purpose is to develop people. Her focus is to provide the tools, training, and opportunities to her employees so that someday they can become her manager. Only then, can success truly be measured. She also subscribes to the TEAM concept, Together Everyone Achieves More.

Deb is a firm believer that the leadership and communication skills are the key difference to future success. Through Bobcat, training programs have utilized books such as The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People by Stephen Covey and Emotional Intelligence by Daniel Goleman to help develop these interpersonal skills.
