Job Title: Lean Project Specialist

Department: Project Transform

Salary: £28,695 - £37,394 per annum, depending on skills and experience. Salary progression beyond this scale is subject to performance

Job Family & Level: Administrative, Professional and Managerial Level 4

Contract Status: Fixed term for 2 years Full Time 36.25 per week

Hours of Work: 36.25 hours per week

Location: King’s Meadow Campus, Nottingham.

Purpose of the Role:

The role of the Lean Project Specialist will work across Project Transform as an integral part of a specialist team of Lean Six Sigma experts. The role holder will be required to work across multiple areas of the project as current state understanding and future state design, development, testing, implementation and embedding stages are undertaken. As an ambassador for the project the role holder will be expected to foster communication channels with colleagues across all levels and areas of the University.

This will be completed through:-

The assessment, evaluation and creation of current state process maps.

The organisation, coordination, delivery and output capture of future state process design workshops, including video conferences.

The configuration and integration of defined functionality into a new IT system.

The identification, definition and specification of roles relating to redesigned processes.

• Determine approach to ensure delivery of complex and advanced level process flow maps for both current and future states

• Establish own work sequence and priorities to ensure overall project goals are delivered in a timely manner

• Develop visual management approaches to support Project wide activities

• Determine suitable workshop approach to ensure all deliverables are met within timeframes.

• Develop and adhere to a schedule of work that will deliver the required project outcomes

• Ensure colleagues on the campus in China and Malaysia are fully integrated into process design.

• Establish clearly prioritised schedules of work with Work Stream Leaders, Lean Experts and Work stream Specialist

iii) Referred to your manager.

• Changes to procedures which require considerable extra resources

• Proposed changes that are likely to provoke significant negative reaction from the University students or staff

Scope of the Role

This role is within the Process Design Stream of Project Transform. The role holder will work with a team of circ. 25 on process matters and as part of the the wider Project Transform team. As such the day to day activities may vary significantly, with a flexible approach being essential for the success of the project.
