Weaver 9 Historical Figure:

Instructions

Directions: You will be creating a Twitter page for a historical figure of the 1920s-30’s. In order to do this, you will have to do research about the person you are assigned so that you are able to identify information about their accomplishments, friends, family, and aspects of their everyday lives. You will be given a sufficient amount of class time to create your page. Aside from the Twitter page, you will also be required to complete a bibliography of your sources. The bibliography must include at least 3-5 credible sources.

When creating this Twitter page, do your best to make sure it resembles an actual Twitter page as closely as possible. To do this, use the appropriate Twitter fonts (Arial) and the appropriate colors (black and blue.) You should also make sure that the pictures required for each section are the appropriate size. Do your best to make connections to other historical figures that your classmates are doing as we are trying to create a social network of the 1920s-30’s. When your project is completed you will print out a hard copy (in color) and rubric to be graded (stapled to the back like you did for your propaganda poster).

Twitter Template:

← Insert a photo of the person. If possible try to find a head shot of the person so we are able to see exactly who it is. Make sure the picture is as clear as possible.

← Write a quote from the person. This quote should be memorable. If you can’t find a quote from this person, find a quote about this person.

← Fill-in information about their background in a creative tweet. Are they involved with someone or are they single? For the birth date, you should be able to find an exact date. For the current city, write the city and state/country the person resides in. If you cannot find that, then use their native city/state.

← Include four friends of this person. For this, be sure to include a name label next to each picture. These friends could be related to the person or they could have played an important role in their career or life.

← Use the information you found on their accomplishments to create a fun hash tag or organization that they may be following. How did their accomplishments affect history? Reveal this through the people they follow or the organizations they created.

← Incorporate the interesting facts on your Twitter feed.

← Overall, use your research in a fun and creative way!
