Job Description: Property AccountantGilic Development Inc. is an innovative real estate firm based in Vancouver. This diverse company is vertically integrated with in-house departments responsible for execution of the company’s activities including real estate investment, property development, as well as leasing, sales and marketing. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer (“CFO”) and Portfolio Manager, the Property Accountant is responsible for the full cycle accounting, including financial statements preparation, cash flow, budgeting, and analytical support. This position has strong analytical and detail-oriented skills and can strongly work independently as well as part of a team.Specific Duties & Responsibilities (not limited to):Record daily business activity, such as cash receipts, intercompany cash movements, monthly accruals, etc. Conduct reconciliation of balance sheet accounts, prepare journal entries, and perform analysis Prepare, review, and reconcile revenue and cost entriesPreparation of monthly departmental expense analysisConduct wire transactions including MasterCard payments, intercompany transfers, and other invoice payments, review and ensure accuracy of cheque payments and obtain necessary backupRecord and maintain fixed asset purchases and applicable depreciation and amortization schedulesAssist in preparation and analysis of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports accurately Assist and prepare monthly cash flow analysis and variance analysis to budget and forecastAssist in meeting tax compliance, prepare monthly, quarterly, and annually HST/GST and parking tax filingsPrepare annual CAM statements.Ensure new rental notices are sent to tenant for coming years operating budget approximately 60 days prior to commencement of the operating year Full understanding of all property specific processes and upkeep of pertinent information relating to specific properties Effectively communicate financial information to Portfolio Manager and provide financial and analytical assistance as neededAssist in preparation of annual budget and ad hoc management reports as neededQualifications & Skills (not limited to):CPA designation is requiredMinimum of 2 years’ of property accountant experience, specifically for Commercial Property Management.Working knowledge of CAM Reconciliation required.Experience with Timberline (Sage 300 CRE) would be an assetAbility to work in a fast-paced environment with high volumeProficiency in Microsoft Office applications, with advanced skills in ExcelTeam player mentality, keeping in mind the big picture and overall success of the organizationIf you meet the requirements and are interested, please submit your resume and salary expectations to hr@.
