1) Introduction:

The meeting of the Project Approval Board for considering the Annual Work Plan and Budget

(AWP&B) 2021-22 for SAMAGRA SHIKSHA for the State of Punjab was held on 01.07.2021

through Video Conference. The list of participants who attended the meeting is at Annexure-I.

Section: I - State specific initiatives, Review of Performance & Issues

2) Initiatives of the State:

Ms. Anita Karwal, Secretary (SE&L) invited Punjab to give a presentation on School Education in

the State. Sh. Krishan Kumar, Secretary, Department of School Education, Government of Punjab

gave a presentation which included the following major points:

a) Action taken for tackling the learning loss through Digital Learning Platforms:

(i) E-books and delivery of Text Books: Punjab School Education Board has uploaded e-books

on its website. PDF files have been individually made available to the schools through social

media and on the website of the Department. Text books have been provided to students at

their doorsteps.

(ii) Daily WhatsApp Message: Started a campaign ¡°Corona Naal Krni Ladai Hai, Ghar ton Krni

Padai hai¡± with an objective to help children learn at home. 1.5 lakh children benefitted by the

Education content package sent to all parents in WhatsApp group.

(iii) Worksheets: To enhance the learning level of students, 20 worksheets for each child of

classes VI to X based on Learning Outcomes were prepared. These worksheets were delivered

periodically at the doorsteps of students. The same were also sent through WhatsApp group,

Punjab Educare app, TV, Radio, Internet, etc.

(iv) Educare app: The Department of School Education Punjab has developed its own Android

based application and given access to teachers as well as students for all kind of prescribed

syllabus-based study material, video and audio lessons, annual syllabus and paper structure,

Udaan sheets, PAS based sample papers, Simplified study material, etc

(v) You Tube Channel: The Department had compiled all the lectures delivered to the students

of various classes. These lectures have been put on a single ¡°You Tube¡± channel which has

been created by the Department.

(vi) Dedicated TV Channel: TV channel DD Punjabi is relaying the study program for all the

classes.

(vii) Video Lectures: Various teachers have been trained online to prepare video lectures. The

Department is also compiling these video lectures and after scrutiny by an expert committee,

these lectures are broadcast.

(viii) Online Admission: Each school has created Online Performa as directed by State HQ for

online admissions. School heads and teachers individually interact with parents/ students and

motivate them for online admissions. Dedicated nodal officers have also been deputed at state
