I have used most of these foods at one time or another. $ per # (Local Price per Pound) Local rewards quoted. LBP - Large Breed Puppy formula

$ per * - price per pound or per 13 oz can divided by the number of stars equals the price per star or nutritional value. The cheaper the star the more quality/nutrition you are getting for your dollar. (the more stars you could buy for a dollar) + My dogs do not like Iams canned food.

I highlighted the Adult, LBP formulas and canned food that I use routinely. I mix the foods so my dogs get a variety of protein sources every day. And if one food gets recalled or has a problem it is only a portion of their diet; I can immediately delete it without creating a diet change problem.

I included Country Vet Choice dry food not because of its quality but as an alternative if you have a dog that is allergic to red meat (or meat and bone meal) in dry foods. For weight control: Senior formulas often start with real meat protein and have a healthy level of protein and reduced fat content. I always try a senior food first before trying a "weight control formula" that has very low protein and a grain for its first ingredient. GRADUALLY increasing exercise helps too! is a great research tool with a lot of information on the many different pet foods available in the US, but I recommend going to the Dog Food Advisor for the quality. Note-Foods from livestock companies may not be on Pet Food Direct.
