OTHER GUIDELINES

1. If you are absent from a class, it is your responsibility to find out any homework, assessment requirements and what was covered in that class (you can also refer to the class outline and sharepoint site).

2. You MUST attempt all assessment events and submit these by the dates specified, as per this outline. It is your responsibility to ensure that you submit these tasks by the allocated dates. If you are absent, satisfactory documentary evidence must be supplied in the next class ie a medical certificate, providing it is dated on or before the date the assessment is due. Published TAFE policy in relation to missed assessment events will apply. In summary these are:

"Where a student is or expects to be absent from an assessment event or is unable to submit an assessment event by the due date:

* the student must notify the class teacher if possible before the due date or, if this is not possible, at the first attendance after the event or within 7 days (whichever is the sooner)

* the student should give a reason to the class teacher for not attending / completing / submitting the assessment event and provide supporting evidence where possible.”

** For Resit Eligibility please refer to the NSI Resit policy provided by your teacher

3. Homework will be set regularly and is noted on this lesson outline. It is your responsibility to ensure you complete ALL homework set.

4. Calculators - Programmable calculator (including electronic dairies) cannot be used.

5. Dictionary - Students from non-English speaking backgrounds can use paper translation dictionaries from their native language into English for all tests. Electronic dictionaries cannot be used in any test or examination.

6. Class TEST Guidelines

a) Exam dates are provided on this lesson outline. If the date is changed, students will be advised with plenty of time to prepare for their task – if it is deemed necessary to change the date of any task, the new date change would normally be one or two lessons after the date provided above.

b) Mobile phones may not be used as a calculator in any exam. Phones are to be switched off and left in the students bag at the front of the classroom.

c) Any student whose mobile phone rings or vibrates in an exam will receive a FAIL result.

d) Students may use pen or pencil in their tests.

e) Students who arrive more than 10 minutes late for an assessment may not be allowed to sit the test.
