SPEAKER BIOGRAPHIES

Gary Pearce, Chief Risk Architect

Gary Pearce is Chief Risk Architect at Aclaimant, an organization providing a state of the art risk reduction platform that assists organizations to prevent incidents and better manage those that do occur. Mr. Pearce recently retired from Kelly Services Inc., where as Chief Risk, Privacy and Compliance Officer he reported to the CEO and served as leader of the firm’s risk management functions including the corporate Enterprise Risk Management program.

As Chief Risk Architect at Aclaimant Mr. Pearce is engaged in product development, customer consulting, business development and launching of the Aclaimant Risk Management Institute (ARMI), an educational forum that provides world-class risk insight to Aclaimant customers.

Mr. Pearce is a past president of the RIMS Detroit Chapter. He holds the CPCU and ARM designations and an MBA from the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan. Prior to joining Kelly Services he was the Risk Financing Manager at Trinity Health and a vice president at Marsh Inc.

Joel Stoklosa, Operation Vice President

Joel Stoklosa joined FM Global in 2004.  He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Johnson & Wales University and is currently working on his MBA.  Prior to becoming the Assistant Client Service Manager, Joel held positions as Account Manager, Staff Senior Underwriting Specialist, Manager Loss Analysis and most recently Manager Aggregation Analysis with FM Global. In Joel’s current role he provides leadership and direction to the operations Client Service staff for the Cleveland Operations.

|Ryan A. Barber, Managing Director |

|Ryan Barber is a managing director within the Global Property Practice located in New York and serves on the Executive |

|Committee of Marsh’s National Property Practice. Ryan leads industry specialization within the US Practice where he is |

|responsible for developing and implementing industry-based risk advisory and insurance placement strategies and |

|solutions. He is actively involved with Marsh’s industry practices where he works directly with clients and prospects |

|throughout the US on strategy development, program design and alternatives, marketing, carrier management and service |

|implementation. Ryan has extensive experience working with clients in the real estate, hospitality, financial |

|institution, retail, and health care industries, with a specialty in large natural catastrophe driven risks. |

|Ryan’s insurance experience began in 1995, working exclusively within property. After spending the first seven years of |

|his career with Marsh, Ryan worked at Willis as a senior property broker and business development specialist. Most |

|recently he served as co-leader of Integro's US Property Practice. He rejoined Marsh in 2011. |

|Ryan has a BS in business administration from the University of Texas, Austin |

David Garrigus, Executive Vice President and MAPS Practice Leader

David Garrigus joined HUB in 2019 as Executive Vice President and MAPS Practice Leader. In this role David leads the management liability, professional liability and Cyber teams of HUB Midwest. David joined HUB from a national brokerage where he worked as a senior management and professional liability broker of large and complex risks. David previously worked at Ironshore Insurance Company as the Midwest Regional Manager of management and professional liability, and before that spent 8+ years as a broker.

David is a regular speaker at industry events, including educational programs, panels, and client symposiums. Notably, David was a panelist at the RIMS Hines Symposium titled “Cyber Risk: Protecting Your Assets”, and has authored pieces including "One Size Does Not Fit All: A More Focused Approach to Healthcare D&O Insurance Contract Construction" published by the American Health Lawyers Association. David has twice won Risk & Insurance Magazine Power Broker Awards. David is an active member of the Economic Club of Chicago, InfraGard Alliance (public-private partnership with the FBI on Cyber-security), and the Association for Corporate Growth. David has served on the board of the Insurance Industry Charitable Foundation and has actively supported other organizations including Bernie’s Book Bank and City of Hope’s Insurance Industry Council.

David earned his MBA in Economics and Strategic Management from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, and his BS in Business Finance from Miami University in Ohio.

Frederick D. Driscoll, Director, Risk Financing and Captive Operations

Frederick D. Driscoll is the Director, Risk Financing and Captive Operations at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan Mutual Insurance Company (BCBSM), a $30 billion, not-for-profit health insurer. In this role, Fred manages all aspects of the placement and claims administration for the property and casualty insurance programs for BCBSM and its subsidiaries. Additionally, Fred is responsible for the day-to-day oversite of Woodward Straits Insurance Company (WSIC), a wholly-owned captive insurance company established in 2015. Highlights of WSIC’s 2018 financial results include revenues of $108 million, underwriting profit of $32 million and year end capital and surplus of $73 million.

Prior to joining BCBSM, Fred was Director, Risk Financing and Insurance Programs at Excellus BCBS in Rochester, New York. Fred has served as the senior risk management professional with several organizations in both the financial services and health care industries and with both for profit and not-for profit entities. Fred has been responsible for, and/or participated in, the management of seven different captive insurance companies including single parent and group captive insurance companies.

Fred has a Bachelor of Science in Insurance from Ferris State University in Big Rapids, Michigan.

Mike Niehaus, Director, Insurance and Risk Management, Ilitch Holdings

Mike has been the Director, Insurance and Risk Management for Ilitch Holdings, Inc. since September 2013. He has more than 30 years of experience in corporate risk and insurance management including claim management and loss control programs. Prior to joining Ilitch, Mike was the Insurance Program manager for Dr Pepper Snapple Group in Plano, Texas. Previous risk management experience also includes Daimler-Chrysler Corp, Penske Corporation and Guardian Industries.

Mike received his bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Michigan State University, and Masters of Business Administration from Western Michigan University. He is a member of the Board of Management for the Michigan Self Insurers Association and past president of the Detroit chapter of RIMS and holds the CPCU and ARM designation from the Insurance Institute of America.

Dmitry Shteynberg, Senior Vice President, Major Accounts

Dmitry Shteynberg serves as the regional leader for Major Accounts in the Midwest Region. Based in Chicago, Mr. Shteynberg is responsible for managing the sales, distribution, and account management strategies for the Major Accounts segment. He and his team of Major Segment Leaders and Global Client Executives drive account retention and new business growth of Chubb’s largest customers. By coordinating with 14 branch offices, 15 business units, and over 40 product offerings, they are able to implement regional production plans, product line distribution strategies, and business development initiatives throughout the region.

Mr. Shteynberg has nearly 19 years of insurance and underwriting management experience. He previously served as Senior Vice President, Financial Lines, for Chubb’s Midwest Region.

Mr. Shteynberg holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from Northwestern University and an MBA from the Kellogg School of Business at Northwestern University.
