Snowbound: Fireside Poets prepare the way for Romanticism
Romantic poets found comfort and beauty even in the harsh or dangerous elements of nature. Whittier’s poem, “Snow-Bound: A Winter’s Idyll”. In Whittier’s idyll (see p.182), he describes a blizzard as positive because it creates a magical outdoor scene and draws a family together.
