Lawson’s bring a unique alpine style to Liverpool

26 March 2012: Reclaimed timber specialist, Lawson’s has recently completed work at The Chalet Bar, an alpine style après ski bar/club in the famous Matthew Street area in Liverpool city centre.

The very nature of reclamation demands vision and inspiration to achieve designs that can be created out of materials that have stood the test of time and are already hundreds of years old, while being restored so they fit and work into today’s high-end environments. Lawson’s succeeded again in doing this when they supplied The Chalet Bar with some of their reclaimed timber. Bar owner, Arran Bordi gave Lawson’s a brief, which was to create a unique feel to the new bar, and was in keeping with the rustic feel of alpine style chalets. The bespoke hand sanded reclaimed pine was used for the bar tops and wall cladding, with some very chunky oak trees made into funky tables. The floorboards used in the bar were originally from the Gannex textile mill in Halifax.

Adam Lawson, Director for Lawson’s, said:

“Our aim is to provide high quality products and to exceed the expectations of our clients. We want our clients to be safe in the knowledge that we will deliver the look and feel they want. We pride ourselves on using recycled materials as much as possible, so we were thrilled to work with The Chalet Bar, which specifically wanted to keep the character of the very distressed and rustic wood flowing through the bar. We love mixing contemporary ideas with old products and I think we did a great job at the Chalet Bar.”

Arran Bordi, owner of The Chalet Bar, said:

“The work Lawson’s did for us is truly fantastic. The materials are so unique and individual. The entire process was easy, hassle-free and the results simply speak for themselves. ”
