CALIFORNIA CREDIT UNION ROBBERY

ELK GROVE, CA ? The Elk Grove Police Department is asking for the community's help in identifying two suspects involved in a bank robbery.

On September 12, 2011 at 10:26 a.m., two suspects (photos below) entered the California Credit Union (4801 Laguna Blvd. Suite 101) and vaulted over the front counter. The suspects ordered the employee to the ground and immediately began removing money from the cash drawers. The suspects then ordered the employee to a rear office where the safe was located. The suspects proceeded to remove an undisclosed amount of U.S. currency from inside the safe. Both suspects then exited the credit union and were last seen walking into the parking lot.

The first suspect was described as an African-American male adult, twenty-five to thirty (25-30) years of age, five feet six inches tall (5'6") with a stocky build. He was wearing black sunglasses and a camouflage military uniform. The second suspect was described as an African-American male adult, twenty-five to thirty (25-30) years of age, six feet tall (6'0") with a thin build. He was also wearing black sunglasses and a camouflage military uniform. No weapons were displayed or observed during the robbery.

Anyone with information regarding this robbery is asked to call the Elk Grove Police Department Detective Bureau at (916) 478-8060 or Crime Alert at (916) 443-HELP (4357). Callers to Crime Alert can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.00. Tips can also be sent via SMS text message by entering CRIMES (274637) on a cell phone, followed by Tip732 (agency identification number) and the message.
