POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT

|POSITION: |TEMPORARY INSTRUCTOR – Logistics and Supply Chain Management (Sept 15 – Oct 31) |

|PRIMARY LOCATION: |DeKalb |

|DESCRIPTION: |Under general supervision of the Dean of the School of Business, Computer Information Systems & New Media, the |

| |selected candidate’s duties will include (1) assisting with the development of the Logistics and Supply Chain |

| |Management curriculum (2) contributing to the development of program syllabi, including appropriate goals, objectives,|

| |student learning outcomes and assessment measures for the program. |

| |The selected candidate will demonstrate knowledge of current practices in Transportation Management Systems, Supply |

| |Chain and Logistics Management, Procurement, Warehousing and other fields relating to the transportation and logistics|

| |industry. The selected candidate must be able to define how to assess student learning outcomes, foster effective |

| |learning in both classroom and lab settings, and promote good public relations via contacts, and regular |

| |communications with business, industry, and the public sector. |

| |The length of this temporary assignment will be September 15 – October 31. |

|ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: |To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The |

| |requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. |

| |Understands and is experienced in practices and procedures in the Logistics & Supply Chain Management field. |

| |Develop courses for the Logistics and Supply Chain Management curriculum which includes developing student learning |

| |outcomes and assessment measures. |

| |Identify and vet open educational resources (OER) for the courses and plan course mode and delivery. |

| |Discuss, identify and request equipment required for the program and prepare the budget estimates and requests. |

| |Build a two-year schedule for course offerings and plan course mode and delivery. |

| |Prepare curriculum sheets and graduation plan for each Logistics program. |

| |Develop curriculum maps for each program. |

| |Develop a field employment opportunity analysis. |

| |Ability to manage multiple projects at different stages while meeting deadlines and quality standards. |

| |Ability to work independently, under minimal supervision. |

| |Advanced skills in planning, organizing, and self-management. |

| |Other duties as assigned. |

|MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: |Baccalaureate Degree in Logistics Management or related field and a minimum of three years employment experience |

| |within the past seven years. Faculty must be credentialed to satisfy all appropriate accrediting bodies for the |

| |courses assigned. |

| |NOTE: Unofficial Transcript must be provided at the time of application. Official Transcripts are required within 60|

|PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS |A Master’s degree in Supply Chain Logistics/Transportation Management Systems or a closely related field from a |

| |nationally or regionally accredited college or university with course work in field instruction with a minimum of 18 |

| |graduate hours is required. |

| |Three years instructor/training experience AND three years of industry experience within the last ten years in Supply |

| |Chain Logistics/Transportation Management Systems or closely related industry. Experience in an academic setting, |

| |using BANNER System, Blackboard Learning Management System, knowledge of a computerized transportation management |

| |system and experience with course development. |

|salary/benefits: |The assignment will begin September 15 and end October 31 and will pay $6,600.00. Adjunct Faculty are temporary |

| |positions, scheduled based on class needs of the college. Adjunct Faculty will generally sign assignment |

| |acknowledgements which cover a single term at a time, and employment is not guaranteed. Adjunct faculty members do |

| |not receive benefits and are scheduled as needed. Adjunct Faculty work on a PER ASSIGNMENT/per-term basis, therefore |

| |future courses are not assured. Georgia Defined Contributions and taxes will be deducted. |
