1. Job Details:

Job title: Account Manager

Division: Blakemore Fine Foods

Department: Sales

Responsible to: Sales & Trading Manager

2. Job Purpose:

• To develop and grow the sales of a set of key accounts.

3. Key Tasks / Responsibilities:

• To achieve sales & income targets set by the Sales & Trading Controller

• Operate as the lead point of contact for any and all matters specific to a set of key customers

• Build and maintain strong customer relationships.

• To resolve any issues to the satisfaction of our customers by working with the office support team.

• Analysing customer spend patterns to highlight potential for further growth with customers and then constructing proposals and strategy to achieve this.

• Prepare meaningful and comprehensive performance reports for review by the Sales & Trading Manager.

• Feeding back any range shortfall to the business.

• Retaining and grow existing accounts through effective range reviews, delivery of promotional programmes etc.

• Managing new range roll outs and product allocations. Feeding this information to the office support team.

• Ensuring correct pricing is listed with customers, and passing price increases through to customers in a timely manner

• Work alongside the Trading & Sales Controller to nurture the development of new accounts.

• Ensure you have a good understand of the market place in which we operate.

• Compliance with health and safety responsibilities as defined at Level 3 of the company Health and Safety Policy arrangements.

4. Financial Responsibilities:

• To meet yearly targets as set with the Sales & Trading Manager.

• Maintain employee and organisational confidentiality in line with Data Protection Act

6. Other:

This job description describes the main responsibilities of the post holder but is not intended to cover in detail all the tasks required of the post. The post holder may be required to carry out other duties as requested by management; however these will not be unreasonable and will be appropriate to the level of post. On occasions the post holder will be required to work away from designated work place which may involve staying away from home as and when required in accordance with the needs of the business. The post holder will be responsible for the appropriate use and maintenance of company vehicle.
