Enhanced security for online banking.

Sandy Spring Bank uses Advanced Login Authentication (ALA) as part of the online banking security procedure. ALA helps to reduce the risk of fraud by using Device Profiling and Step Up Authentication in addition to the login credentials described on page 4.

?Device Profiling ? This automatically takes place at every login for every user. If the Company ID and User ID are correct and the system recognizes the access device, login proceeds to the Password screen.

?Step Up Authentication ? If the system doesn't recognize the access device, Step Up Authentication occurs. A onetime security code is sent to one of the user's valid phone numbers recorded for their account. Once the security code is entered, login proceeds to the Password screen.

Please note: current phone numbers required ? Every user must maintain current phone contact information on their ebiz account. (See screen shot to the right.) Without a valid phone number, the user can't respond to the request for a security code and the login can't be completed. At this point, the user will have to contact their Primary Administrator or the Commercial Business Center at 866.867.1570 to update their phone number.

Using ACH services

ACH services will be available beginning at 9:00 a.m. on August 17. If your company sends both ACH credit and debit entries to the bank, you must use a different Company ID for each type of entry.

For example, if you use your tax identification number preceded by the number 1 (e.g. 1520111111) to send credit entries, you can send your debit entries with your tax identification number preceded by a different prefix (e.g. 9520111111).

ACH Credit Origination. If your ACH credit entries are pre-funded at Revere Bank, they must also be pre-funded at Sandy Spring Bank. Pre-funding means we'll immediately verify the availability of funds in your funding account when you originate a file.

View your ACH limits

?If you use File Import service (referenced as File Upload in ebiz) to deliver ACH entries, please follow these steps prior to sending the file through ebiz to ensure it can be processed:

1.Check your ACH settlement account to be sure there's a sufficient available balance to settle the total dollar amount of the entries on the ACH credit file. Please note: You'll no longer receive a message from online banking if sufficient available balances aren't in your settlement account.

2.Remove the off-setting ACH debit transaction from the file (unbalanced file). This is a change you must make through your in-house system that creates the ACH credit file (this change should be made after August 17). The off-setting transaction is an ACH debit at the end of your batch of ACH credit entries and is for the total amount of all of the credit transactions in the batch.

3. On or after August 17, update your File Header Record to reflect the Sandy Spring Bank name and routing number as shown in the chart below.
