Omnii XT15/VH10 Serial Number Validation UtilityEquipment needed:USB flash drive (FAT32 format)For Omnii XT15 - ST4003 (Desk Dock) or ST4001 (Snap module)The ZIP file provides 2 options for reentering a missing device serial number. Two options for Windows CE and two options for Windows Embedded HandHeld:An auto-run application that will auto execute from a USB drive when connected to the device.An installable CAB file to load the validation utility (can be used with an MDM)*** The utility is unique to the OS on the device. Be sure to use the correct version for your OS (i.e. Windows CE or Windows Embedded Handheld)How to use option 2 above:Copy the contents in the *_AutoRun.zip file to the root of your USB flash drive.Your USB flash drive should look like this – \│├─ ?0│? ││? └─ Autorun.exe│└─ PsionTeklogixNet.dllPtxSdkCommon.dllValidate Terminal Serial Number.exePower on the device so the OS is running.Insert the USB flash drive (VH10 USB port or XT15 USB port in the Dock or Snap Module).The utility will automatically run and display the detected Terminal Serial Number (screens shots are on another page in this document)How to use option 2:Install the CAB file on the device (selecting the correct CAB to suit the OS on your device)The CAB installs the Utility in the “\ProgramFiles\Validate Terminal Serial Number” folder.If installing from an MDM, you can use the MDMs Remote Control feature or operate the Utility from the device screen.Locate the Utility in the folder mentioned above and start it.The screen shots below will guide you through entering the Serial NumberThe Utility will:retrieve and display the device system properties? No data is missing…If the Terminal Serial Number, Terminal Part Number, MLB Serial Number and MLB Part Number are all present, you shall see similar info? At this point, simply click OK to exit the application [and uninstall the CAB file, if installed].? Data is missing…If the Terminal Serial Number is not set, the Utility will give the opportunity to key-in the Terminal Serial Number (max 14 digits) or Scan the Terminal Serial Number barcode (the last 14digits of the barcode data, the Serial Number, will be kept)If the Terminal Part Number, MLB Serial Number or MLB Part Number is not set in the device, the (read-only) field back color will be set to ?light coral ?and its value will be set to “(Not set)”. These values cannot be found without opening the device, so the Utility will set them to “(Not set)”, as a flag to the Service Depot to enter the correct value, if this device is sent for repair later.? When the Serial Number has been entered, click the ?icon to save the new info ??? The save icon is now disabled / Greyed Out ?and the background colour of the modified field(s) is now set to ?light green .Once saved, click OK or [X ] to exit.You will then be prompted to warm reset the device:? or click OK or [ x ] to exit without saving.You will be prompted as follows:? Upon reset, to verify the expected data is present and accurate, feel free to restart the application or alternatively use the device System Properties applet.When done, un-install the CAB file ................
