Scholarship opportunities are available for all high school students. They are listed by due date. New ones are highlighted in blue. Submit a request for a transcript from Ms. Smith at least three days prior to the due date. January

Florida State Elks Association Hope Scholarship-$3,000 to $10,000 scholarships. Seniors who are Florida residents and U. S. citizens are eligible. Scholarship targets students who have maintained a 2.3-3.3/4.0 GPA (and are not in the top 10% of graduating class), have demonstrated financial need, and leadership through participation in school activities, community service, and citizenship. Consideration also given to students who help support family through employment. Must complete application, write essay, and provide parental financial information, copy of 2018 IRS Form 1040/1040A, ACT/SAT scores, official transcript, letters of recommendation, counselor report, and exhibits. Washington Crossing Foundation National Scholarship Awards-Regional and national scholarships from $500 to $5,000, and an all-expense paid weekend to Bucks County, PA for awards ceremony. Seniors planning careers of service in the United States local, state, or federal government are eligible. The James H. Davis Memorial Scholarship-Renewable scholarships. Seniors planning to attend a community college, college or university in the state of Florida and enrolling in a horticulture program or related field with the intent to graduate in that field are eligible. Scholarships based on financial need, ability to maintain 2.0 GPA, and full-time enrollment. Must complete application, write essay, and provide two letters of recommendation and transcript. Mensa Education & Research Foundation Scholarships-Local, regional, and national awards from $500 to $1,000. Seniors who are U. S. citizens or legal residents and planning to attend U. Southern Methodist University Hunt Leadership Scholars Program-Approximately 20-25 scholarships of $43,000 per year for four years. To be eligible must be seniors who rank in the top 25% of class, exhibit extraordinary leadership, have SAT of 1330 or ACT of 29, and have completed strong college prep curriculum. Must submit application for admission to SMU, online Hunt Leadership Scholarship application, letters of recommendation, essay, and YouTube video statement. Ollie Edmunds Distinguished Scholarship-Stetson University-Two full tuition, fees, books, on-campus housing and board for four years. The Coolidge Scholarship-Full-ride scholarship, including tuition, room, board, and expenses for four years of undergraduate study. Juniors are eligible if: are U. S. citizens or legal permanent residents, have distinguished academic record, are interested in public policy, and display a sense of service and care for the well-being of others. S. citizens with documented learning disabilities and/or ADHD, have at least a 3.0/4.0 GPA, plan to be enrolled in full-time bachelor's degree program, and have financial need. Holocaust Reflection Contest-Three high school first place awards-$1,000 each; $500 to each winning student's teacher; $500 to each winning student's school; three second place awards of $250 each. High school and middle school students are eligible. Students must create original essay or poem, visual art piece, or short film that reflects this piece of history, its personal meaning, and how it may impact personal future. Courageous Persuaders Video Competition-Multiple awards from $250-$3,000. High school students can either enter individually or in teams. Seniors who are Florida residents, attending a Florida school, and have skills and interests that are musically or technically oriented and related to Florida Folk Music, Florida Folk History, and/or production of materials related to Florida Folklore.
