Being socially responsible is not just a program. It's core to our business philosophy to build mutually beneficial relationships with coffee farmers and communities. Their success is pivotal to ours, and we're involved in many ways:

? We are working with Transfair USA, the third-party organization that certifies Fair Trade coffees, to increase our distribution and promotion of Fair Trade CertifiedTM coffees.

? We work with farmers through C.A.F.E. (Coffee And Farmer Equity) practices, a set of socially responsible buying guidelines offering preferential buying status to high quality producers who score highest in social and environmental criteria on verified reports.

? We help provide access to various loan funds that help farmers invest in their farms for their future success.

? We collaborate with farmers through the Farmer Support Center to provide technical support and training for high quality coffee in the future.

The Center's agronomists and sustainability experts work with farmers throughout Central America to:

? Develop best practices for growing quality coffee responsibly ? Improve the quality of crops through better growing and

conservation techniques ? Help implement social projects
