Annual Support Equipment (SE) Prioritization Conference, March 26-30, 2007

PMA260 conducts the annual SE Prioritization Conference at NAVAIR Lakehurst. The purpose of the Conference is to prioritize both Common Support Equipment (CSE) and Peculiar Support Equipment (PSE) for out of production aircraft. This year the conference will prioritize equipment requirements starting in FY-08 and continuing through FY-15. Projected FY-08 budget for hardware procurements is 118 million with total budget being prioritized across the 8-year budget cycle in excess of 688 million dollars.

The Support Equipment Controlling Authorities (SECA) from each TYCOM represent the Fleet. The SECAs prioritize what equipment will be procured and in which specific years. This process ensures that the equipment most needed by the Fleet is procured and delivered in a timely fashion. The conference is conducted on a yearly basis, which allows the SECAs the opportunity to adjust priorities to ensure that we meet the most urgent Fleet equipment needs.

The procurement of new SE will improve mid and future readiness requirements by replacing old, obsolete, maintenance intensive equipment with new equipment to meet Navy objectives. New equipment will allow for the retirement of SE that has in some cases been in the Fleet for more than 40 years. This conference focuses on minimizing PSE to the maximum extent possible to reduce the overall logistics footprint and to reduce the overall cost of equipment. Also, because the Conference is held annually, the ability to meet changing Fleet requirements is ensured.
