The Flower Team for 2012 requests that you check the posted sign-up sheets, which are on a wall in the small Fellowship Hall. Please choose a date and sign up either for flowers or a gift in lieu of flowers. Team members are: Courtney Apple (Jan/Feb), Trillis Batten (March), Gay Grimes (April), Joyce Turner (May), Carrie Wilkerson (June), Kathy Poole (July/Aug), Bertie Barham (Sept/Oct), Dot Riggins (Nov/Dec). Thanks You!
We will have our Church Post Office for Christmas Cards at no charge this year. It is located in the hallway to the large Fellowship Hall. Please only leave Christmas cards that will be picked up by Church and Sunday School members and remember to check for your Christmas cards. We will not deliver or mail any cards that are not picked up.
I want to thank all of you who served as ushers last year. If you are willing to continue this ministry, you don’t have to do a thing. If you have been thinking about joining this team, now is the time. Generally, you will serve one month a year during the Sunday Morning Worship Service. You will meet and greet at the doors, hand out bulletins and take up the offering. Call me at 365-9987 or Sandy in the Church Office at 365-4631 to have your name added to the team. Schedules will be put together and mailed to you before the end of December.
Thanks again for serving. Ed Todd
TEAM OPPORTUNITIES
CHURCH COUNCIL TEAM
We need several members of our church to step forward to serve as representatives to the East Wake Council of Churches. We do not presently have any representation. We have been integrally involved with the Council since its inception and need to support the Council and its various ministries. The annual service award given by the Council (The Stewart Murphy Service Award) is made in honor of a member of our church who, prior to her passing, served with distinction as a representative to the Council for many years. In fact, in spite of our not having an official representative to the Council, the award was given to another of our honored Church Members, Mrs. Frances Ramsey, this year. We really need to support our Council! Please contact the church office if you are interested in participating.
BUILDING USE TEAM
Due to a number of requests to use our facilities by various organizations and individuals, we need to revisit some of the policies that were set when we opened the Large Fellowship Hall. As the policy, by its own language, is a working document to be modified as the need arises, we need to reinstitute a Building Use Team to consider policy modifications and building use requests. There will be a meeting on Sunday, January 15, 2012 at 4:00 for anyone interested in serving as a team member. This is a very important ministry that needs your support.
