A JOINT RESOLUTION

TO APPROVE REGULATIONS OF THE BOARD OF EDUCATION, RELATING TO RENEWAL OF CREDENTIALS, DESIGNATED AS REGULATION DOCUMENT NUMBER 2799, PURSUANT TO THE PROVISIONS OF ARTICLE 1, CHAPTER 23, TITLE 1 OF THE 1976 CODE.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

SECTION 1. The regulations of the Board of Education, relating to Renewal of Credentials, designated as Regulation Document Number 2799, and submitted to the General Assembly pursuant to the provisions of Article 1, Chapter 23, Title 1 of the 1976 Code, are approved.

SECTION 2. This joint resolution takes effect upon approval by the Governor.

SUMMARY AS SUBMITTED

BY PROMULGATING AGENCY.

The State Department of Education recommends that the State Board of Education promulgate amendments to R 43-55, Renewal of Credentials, to clarify the requirements for renewal of professional certificates relative to the Certificate Renewal Plan, as developed by the Office of Teacher Certification and approved by the State Board of Education, and add the requirements for the renewal of expired certificates.
