College of Arts and SciencesDepartment:Speech and Hearing SciencePosition:Faculty member in Neurogenic Communication Disorders/DysphagiaRank:Assistant to Full ProfessorDescription: The Department of Speech and Hearing Science in the College of Arts and Sciences at The Ohio State University invites applications for an expected tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant, Associate or Full Professor in the area of neurogenic communication and swallowing disorders, focusing on brain disorders (including traumatic brain injury and stroke) and its effects on speech, language and swallowing. In addition to scholarship, this individual will contribute to the department’s teaching and service missions. He/she will teach courses in basic speech-language sciences and neurology as well as courses in more clinically applied areas (e.g., neurogenic communication disorders, dysphagia). Because this research area is inherently interdisciplinary, it is expected that the successful candidate will work on collaborative projects such as those that currently exist with Psychology and Otolaryngology.Qualifications: Applicants must have a PhD in Speech and Hearing Science, Communicative Disorders, or a related field, preferably at the time of application, and will likely have postdoctoral training. The successful junior candidate will possess training under an internationally-recognized expert, an emerging publication record, and strong potential for extramural funding (National Institutes of Health (NIH)). For consideration at the rank of tenured Associate Professor or Professor, the successful applicant must have a significant record of scholarly productivity, a national/international reputation and evidence of a fundable research program.
