a.k.a. "Make Mr. Blauer Hip Again"

TASK: Update Mr. Blauer's taste in music

BACKGROUND: On the surface, Mr. Blauer seems musically pretty cool. He has a paid subscription to Apple Music, a Spotify account, and even gets Sirius FM in the car. But appearances can be deceiving. His most regular exposure to contemporary beats is the intro & outro music to The Green Zone, a talk-radio podcast about the Saskatchewan Roughriders, which he listens to on his (used) iPhone 4.

Wait, it gets worse.

His other music player is a transistor radio which he uses to listen to CBC, even in the shower. CBC sometimes plays music, but it's usually pretty terrible.

WHAT YOU NEED TO DO ABOUT IT: You're joining a desperate, but righteous cause to make Mr. Blauer a musical hipster, or at the very least, a passable fraud. To do so, you must:

? Contribute a song to the Spotify playlist ? any genre, so long as it doesn't suck. ? Correctly identify three interesting literary devices in your song's lyrics, and explain, in

50 words each, how 3 of the devices make the song meaningful. (Mr. Blauer needs to be able to talk about his playlist if he's going to pass himself off as a musical hipster.)

SUBMISSION DETAILS: 1. Add your song to the playlist*: Make Mr. Blauer Hip Again (Spotify playlist) This will appear on the playlist linked to Blaudog

2. Reprint your lyrics in a Google Doc, highlight & label all the devices, and write 50-word analyses of 3 devices at the bottom. (3x50 words = 150 words total)

*You will probably need to set up a free Spotify account to contribute to the playlist, if you don't already have one.
