The ladies there were gracious hostesses! The food was delicious and the rooms were spacious and comfortable. Thank you ladies!!! You are always wonderful to us!!!The Conference Spring Spiritual Growth Retreat is fast approaching February 26-27. My hope is that many of you are planning on attending. It is always an outstanding program. Our District Spring Spiritual Growth Meeting will follow on April 30th at First UMC, Conroe. At both meetings we will be celebrating the lives of the United Methodist Women who have passed away this past year. The South Central Jurisdictional Meeting is April 15-17 in Oklahoma City. The bus was cancelled, since we did not get enough people registered to ride. Online registration is open and the official hotel is the Renaissance by Marriott. Our pledge for last year was $31,000.00. We actually received $28,894.16 on the pledge. With all the “extra” giving, such as Mission Candle, Love Ribbons, SMR pens, Gift to Mission and Gift in Memory, we paid $36, 428.03. We were able to “clean out the bank account” and send an additional $1847.45. Our total giving for Central North District was $40,249.64. That amount includes funds that were sent through us to UMCOR, Scarrett-Bennett Center and the Legacy Fund. Nancy Price has been so faithful to This year promises to be an exciting one for UMW and for our District. I look forward to seeing you at the upcoming meetings!!! Membership and Outreach (Cont.’d) – Suzie WorshamRegarding Membership Reporting:We found with the previous process that we only received 60% reporting by conferences instead of our goal of 90% or higher. With this new system we are asking you to report 90% or higher.?What are benefits of this system??·?????????There is no paper involved.·?????????The totals come directly to our office.?·?????????We can then provide reports to each conference.·?????????Our office will be able to help you follow up with the districts and units not reporting.?·?????????The technology allows each unit to do its own entries.·?????????Faster and earlier receipt of the census information.?The process is as follows:?????Conference MNO Membership facilitator or president forwards the attached document with the instructions and link to the district MNO facilitator or president.????District MNO Membership facilitator or president then sends it on to the local unit? MNO or president.??New???The local unit uses the link to enter the data which will come directly to the national office.?The deadline for reporting will be February 28, 2016.Chair of Nominations – Mary Ann VincentPlease find attached at the end of this newsletter a copy of the 2016 officers for Central North District.
