God's Word Alive Women's Group

Join us as we walk with Jesus

through the Gospel of St. Mark!

When Mark wrote his Gospel, to become a

follower of Jesus could incur disapproval or outright

rejection from friends and family members. It also entailed close fellowship

with people one would have previously shunned. Yet, as one reads Mark's

work, one is impressed with it's overflowing JOY. St. Mark writes in

such a way as to invite US to join the same adventure as he and Jesus' first

disciples and followers engaged in. Come and encounter Jesus, grow in

knowledge of who He truly is, and see how wonderful it is to live life with

Him. Wednesday Mornings 10am, introduction on April 17, SPX

Dowd Center (church basement) Women of all ages and walks of

life are welcome. Call Rita at 610.543.5348 for more info.

The Don Corcoran Gospel Reflection Group

We meet each Wednesday evening from 7:00 PM to

8:30 PM for prayer, Bible readings, reflection, and

faith sharing. We welcome new members, but also

look for our past members to join us. Meeting notifications are provided weekly by email. Please contact either Tom Clark - 484-995 1140,

Bernie Long - 610-220-1183, or Mike Gallagher - 484-684-2438, if you

have any questions and/or to provide your email.

Dear Sisters & Brothers,

Thank you! Almost 200 Manna bags of food were donated from St. Pius X Parish to the

Archdiocesan food bank of St. Katharine Drexel Church, in the city of Chester.

What a wonderful celebration honoring Our Blessed Mother was had on Tuesday, May 21st.

Thanks to all the families and individuals who participated in our parish May Procession.

Our golf outing was a great day for all at Paxon Hollow Golf Course on Monday. I went up

in the helicopter and dropped a large bucket of numbered golf balls on the greens below. The winning

golf ball was #179 and the prize awarded was $2,000.00. Thanks to all who supported this fundraiser.

On Saturday, May 18th, following the ordination of three new priests, Archbishop Perez

announced his recent clergy assignments. There are a number of parishes where the pastor is retiring

or being transferred and he has not been replaced due to the priest shortage. Those parishes have been

put under the care of pastors of neighboring parishes. They will not have a priest of their own. Here is

a list of parishes that now or next month will not have a priest at their parish:

Our Lady of Charity, Brookhaven

St. Thomas More, South Coventry

St. Mary of Assumption, Phoenixville

St. Titus, Norristown

St. Bartholomew, Philadelphia

St. Gabriel of the Sorrowful Mother, Stowe

St. George, Glenolden

St. Francis de Sales, Lenni

Holy Martyrs, Oreland

St. Anthony, Ambler

For the past 2 years, Father Donia has been coming to St. Pius X to assist with Sat./Sun.

Masses. Father Donia has ministered at Bishop Shanahan High School in Downingtown for the

past 9 years. Archbishop Perez has appointed Fr. Donia pastor of St. Elizabeth Parish, Upper

Uwchlan and Parochial Administrator of St. Thomas More Parish in Pottstown. Receiving this

assignment, Father Donia will no longer be coming here on the weekends for Mass. On behalf

of all of us, I thanked Father Donia for his gracious assistance.

Another clergy change you may be interested in is that Father Eric Banecker (parochial

vicar here at St. Pius X from 2018-2020) has been appointed pastor of St. Mary Magdalen parish

in Media.

May the Lord be with all priests receiving new assignments - especially Father Donia and

Father Banecker.

As previously announced and explained our parish grade school will close for the present

school year this Friday, May 31st. Congratulations to all our graduates and their families.

Happy Memorial Day!
