Year 1
2015-2016
Launched in June 2015, Boston Workforce Investment Network (Boston WINs) is a multi-year, $20 million venture philanthropy initiative led by State Street Foundation in partnership with five nonprofit partners -- The Boston Private Industry Council (PIC), Bottom Line, College Advising Corps, uAspire and Year Up. The goal of Boston WINs is to advance job readiness and create meaningful career pathways for Boston youth.
Over four years, our partners project that they will scale their reach by 60 percent so that more Boston youth will receive services to prepare them for college and career success. State Street will hire 1,000 Boston Youth that have engaged with one or more of the Boston WINs nonprofit partners.
BOSTON WINS SCORECARD YEAR 1
Our Approach
We're accomplishing this through a unique approach: ? Coordinated Action. Our strategy requires our partners to directly
collaborate and coordinate service delivery to increase the number of Boston students who receive three key services -- college knowledge and admissions advising, college affordability and financial aid advising, and work experience and career awareness -- that advance college and job readiness.
? Multi-Sector Collaboration. We've built strong partnerships between our company, our nonprofit partners and Boston Public Schools to empower service delivery and scaling.
? Company-Wide Commitment. In addition to our financial commitment, we are encouraging our employees to contribute their time and talent to the WINs organizations, and we're committed to hiring 1,000 Boston youth that have engaged with one or more of our nonprofit partners.

BOSTON WINS SCORECARD YEAR 1
Collective Impact Driven through Coordinated Action
In April 2016, Boston WINs launched a six-week demonstration of Coordinated Action to better coordinate the delivery of three key services that support students' successful entry into postsecondary or job-training:
17%
Increase (as a percentage of all seniors) in Seniors
Receiving All Three Services
1 College knowledge and admissions advising 2 College affordability and financial aid advising 3 Work experience and career awareness
Working with Boston Public Schools, WINs identified five Boston high schools that serve a total of 1,196 juniors and seniors and built an infrastructure to support increased communication and service-delivery data sharing across the WINs network. This demonstration, which will be expanded for the 2016 ? 2017 school year, allowed the partners to maximize the number of students receiving these three key services, better preparing them for college and career success.
