DUROSOFT?

The Durosoft? (patent pending) range of Polyglycerol esters are liquid, multifunctional, cosmetic ingredients produced from vegetable oils and glycerine and are ideally suited as emulsifiers for truly cold process formulations.

Advantages of using Durosoft? as a Cold Process Emulsifier:

? Compatible with both oil and water phases

? Truly cold processable ? No heating or cooling requirements ? Reduced manufacturing costs ? Increased manufacturing speeds ? Reduced equipment costs ? No deleterious effect on temperature

sensitive raw materials and active ingredients

? Provides flexibility for formulators ? Active ingredients can be added to the

compatible phase ? Essential oils and fragrances can be

added to the oil phase ? Excellent electrolyte tolerance ? Stable water thin products achievable ? Suitable for use in organic

formulations

Microscopy of water thin emulsions prepared using Durosoft?

After preparation

After 4 weeks

Microscopy of the water thin emulsion base shows little or no difference in droplet size after 4 weeks storage at 40oC.

Durosoft? emulsifiers provide a route to stable water thin emulsions which are achievable using low shear mixing techniques

Thicken by adding phase C

* For a natural thickened cold process cream base, the acrylate/acrylamide thickener can be replaced by 8% Cetyl Alcohol. Generally this level of Cetyl alcohol imparts poor rub in and an undesired skin feel however, used in conjunction with the Durosoft? PK any such issues are minimised .

Stirring speed and duration are for guidance only. Using increased speed or a high shear mixer will reduce the time required to achieve a homogeneous product
