1.) Preterite vs Imperfect:
Know conjugations for both-it takes regular practice to become proficient. (

2.) Know your key words for both the preterite and the imperfect; this is almost like telling you the answer when you have to decide when to use the pret. or imp.

3.) Know your uses:
Imperfect tense-memorize “LO WATERS” from your notes
Preterite tense- In a nutshell, it is used for completed actions or actions that happened at a specific time or a specified number of times. Remember “SAFE.”

4.) Know your vocabulary for the chapter
If you can’t spell the word without looking, then you need to practice more! You will need to recall the word in context so you have to know it well! You will be describing works of art with the vocabulary and using the preterite vs imperfect.

5.) Memorize the formation of past participles.

6.) For speaking and writing, be prepared to talk about a work of art using the vocabulary and the preterite and the imperfect.
