Pictures: Dave Baldwin Dave's pictures didn't catch up with your absent editor in time for the June newsletter. As you may recall from last month's story, Dean Cox, Dave Baldwin, Travis DeMoss and John Martin met at the west end of the park strip at 2pm under cloudy skies. Ursula Gould walked across the park strip and explained that she could not get her MGB to start.

Dean, Travis, & John help Ursula get her MGB outside

Needs fuel too...

The guys got her car going and eventually everyone made it to the Jewell Lake Tastee Freez. They all agreed that helping a fellow member get her car on the road was better than a drive around Anchorage.

Hatcher Pass

June 2

If you weren't along, you missed a great drive to

Hatcher Pass. Four Triumphs, one Jaguar, and one

Ducati showed up at Eagle River Fred's on a beautiful

sunny Saturday morning. Rick wasn't prepared to ride

his Ducati to Hatcher, so after a bit of visiting, he

headed for home and we headed toward Palmer. We were joined by Jason & his MG as we neared the Little Su bridge; six cars made the trek up the mountain to the parking lot at the entrance to the State Park.

Dean, Sandra, & Wolfgang We visited some more in the mountain air, and then departed to the Palmer Ale House for refreshments. After our late lunch/early dinner, we drove the Old Glenn Highway south from Palmer and headed back to Anchorage after a grand day.

Concours d'Elegance June 10

Loussac Library

In the pre-war years, a Concours displayed the best work of contemporary automotive designers and

builders. By the 1950s, the concours was becoming a place to display classic cars, original or restored. Visitors to our BSCA Concours were asked to vote for

their favorite cars of each marque, as well as an overall Best of Show/People's Choice.

Best MG - Dennis & Robin Johnson - 1977 MGB (You could eat dinner off this engine!)

Puzzle: somewhere in this issue is a photograph that is "not quite right." Be the first to email your editor with the answer and win a prize. Your answer must both identify the photo and identify the aspect that is "not quite right."

Best Triumph - Leonard Steinberg - 1966 TR4A

Best of Show - Steve Rosenfield - 2009 Lotus Exige

Best Healey - Scott Bruno - 1974 Jensen Healey
