Closter Police Department

An important message from the Closter Police Department

Lock your car doors and bring your key fobs inside!!!!

"Operation Take Back New Jersey" is Saturday, October 26th from 10:00 a.m. ? 2:00 p.m. at the Closter Police Department ? Garage/Parking Lot behind the Closter Borough Hall. Turn in UNUSED or EXPIRED medication for safe disposal. The Closter Police Department has worked in support of the National Take Back Initiative to invite the community to take a visible stand against drugs by disposing of unwanted and unused prescription drugs. Closter police officers will be on hand to assist with the safe disposal of medication. No questions will be asked.

Daylight Savings Time ends on Sunday, November 3rd. Setting the clocks back an hour is right around the corner. As dusk increases and evening darkness begins to arrive earlier, the Closter Police Department is reminding residents and businesses of the importance in resetting interior and exterior timers for all light lighting devices.

Drivers and pedestrians are being urged to increase their diligence when driving, walking or jogging during the earlier dusk hours. The end of Daylight Savings Time is the perfect time to replace the batteries in smoke and (Co2) carbon dioxide detectors. Utilizing lighting is a strong deterrent in preventing criminal acts.

Crossing someplace other than an intersection accounts for more than 70% of child pedestrian deaths. Take the extra time to cross at the corner. Get more tips at: walkingsafelytips #PedestrianSafety
