Long Beach Arts Council presents:

with Stanislao G. Pugliese, PhD, Historian

Thursday, October 31 at 2:30 p.m.

As controversy and debate rage over the statue of Columbus in NYC and the fate of Columbus Day generally, it is necessary to confront the dilemmas and paradoxes of Italian American history. This lecture is an attempt to unravel the stereotypes and ask questions about both our past and our future. Stanislao Pugliese is Professor of History and the Queensboro Unico Distinguished Professor of Italian Studies at Hofstra University. He is the author, editor or translator of 15 books, including "The Routledge History of Italian Americans".
