Getting Out of S Mode

If you get this pop up, you need to get out of S mode. S Mode is a security mode of Windows that will only let you download apps from the App store.

If the device is on campus you will need to use either your phone hotspot or come to the hotspot at Noss 221. Go to the Microsoft Store Search for S mode in the apps ? it's important to use "s mode" as leaving the space out will mean you can't find the app- (You can't find this if you're not in S mode) The app should look like this.

You will be taken to a page that looks like this. You have to choose "get" and then "install."

You will then be prompted for your Microsoft (non Cal U) login. If you log in to your computer with a password it's probably the same thing since Microsoft strongly encourages account logins. If you log in to a local account you will have to figure out your password or create an account. You can use GMail/yahoo/other accounts to create Microsoft accounts so I recommend trying your primary account. Link to reset Microsoft Account Password - Once you have switched it is not very obvious. If you close out of the store you can't find this page again.
