The Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS) was developed to measure essential skills in the academic areas

of reading, mathematics, science, and English and language usage. These entry-level skills have been deemed

important for health sciences program applicants by a panel of curriculum experts.

When to Test: It is best to test after completing the Information Session, meeting the math requirements, and completing

ENG 111, ENG 112, and BIO 168 & BIO 169 (for Nursing) or BIO 163 (for Radiography).

Scoring: TEAS points are based on the Composite Score, which is an average of an applicant*s reading, math, science,

and English and language usage scores. We do not go by the score that is printed on the score report. Applicants may take

the TEAS multiple times; their highest score in each area will be used in calculating the Composite Score. Note that

TEAS scores are reported as percentages, in decimal format (e.g., 70.5%). TEAS scores will be rounded up or down to the

nearest whole number (.4 or lower will be rounded down; .5 or higher will be rounded up).

Disabilities: Please do not register for the TEAS exam through the ATI Testing webpage if you have a

condition that may warrant special testing conditions that include but are not limited to visual, hearing, physical

impairments, and learning disabilities, please contact our Disability Services office at 919-334-1510 and present

documentation. If accommodations are approved, Disability Services will coordinate with the TEAS

Administrator to schedule the test.

Version: ATI TEAS. TEAS V scores will be accepted as long as the scores are no more than 3 years old prior

to the clinical application deadline. TEAS 4 or lower will not be accepted.

Time Limit: Scores are valid 3 years prior to the clinical application deadline.

Testing Frequency: You can take the test only twice per calendar year with a minimum of 30 days in between

tests.

Cost: The price of the TEAS exam will be $77.00. Price is subject to change without notice.

Location: HA- Building A, in Room 112 (Student Services) at the Perry Health Sciences Campus

What will be supplied for Test: two #2 pencils and scratch paper

What to Bring to the Test: a picture ID (school ID, driver*s license, or passport), and know your

username and password.

What not to Bring to the Test: calculators, manuals, cell phones, bags, food, drinks, extra paper, electronics

Score Reports: A score report is given immediately after the test.

Transferring Scores from other Schools or Centers: You will log into your ATI testing account and then

request your scores to be sent to Wake Technical Community College through their website.
