Expressing the temperature is different in Spanish-speaking countries. Why? They use the Celsius scale rather than the Fahrenheit scale to which we are accustomed. This means that when someone tells you it’s 20 degrees (Celsius), it’s really a pleasant 68 degrees Fahrenheit.
Here’s a rhyme to help you remember how Celcius compares to Fahrenheit:
10’s cool, 20’s nice, 30’s hot, 0’s ice
To convert Celcius to Fahrenheit, multiply the Celcius temperature by 9/5 and then add 32.
