Duffle Bags & Bibles for Foster Children

For 13 years, SC WMU has collected duffle bags & Bibles for foster children. When a child is removed from their home, they are given a trash bag to pack in. They often leave with nothing and are thrust into a stranger's home and have to cope! SC WMU & Pickens-12 Mile wants to let them know someone cares. If you want to help too, please follow these instructions:

• Purchase a DUFFLE BAG with multiple compartments, handles, & a shoulder strap. NO BACKPACKS!

• Purchase a Bible appropriate for a child or youth.

• It's not necessary but you can add any other items you want such as: school supplies, toothbrush/paste, soap, washcloth, pillowcase, snacks (no nuts or peanut butter), etc.

• Please bring your donations to the associational office or call Carol Dickard 864-423- 4321 for pickup!

From the DOM:

August is an exciting time in our churches. Many are working on missions projects or making plans for the new church year. We do this at PTMBA, too. We are working on committee opportunities, 2014 budget opportunities, and making plans for the Associational Meeting in October. Working together helps us to accomplish the most for the cause of Christ.

VBS has been a great opportunity this year. VBS is often the time that the most people come to faith. The follow up for these precious souls is so important.

The Kentucky Mission trip was a great success this year. I was encouraged to see our seasoned and first time workers love on the children and adults in the KY mission field. They bring those skills learned back and can put them to use here to change lives. Thank you to the missionaries who went to KY and the churches that supported their efforts.

Please pray for Jamie and me as we go to Moldova in August to help them celebrate 20 years in ministry at the first church in Cricova that many of our churches helped to build. We will be helping them as they continue their ministry in the seven mission outposts that they have started in their area since then.

We are all missionaries: GO, DISCIPLE, AND BAPTIZE.

Thank you for all you do. Ron and Jane Duncan
