ing re-election subject to the

Democratic Primary.

The school superintendent is in

charge of the accounting and administrative duties for the 64

school districts of Maricopa

County and processes and distributes all of their warrants.

Barry has instituted an up-todate system of machine accounting and posting through Data Processing. All expenditures and

payrolls are audited and all questionable procedures are sent

through the county attorney or

attorney general. Their opinions

are distributed to the districts.

Approximately 15,000 teachers¡¯ certificates are recorded in

the County Office along with their

X-ray reports and the X-ray

reports of some 6,000 non-certificated personnel of the schools.

During the past year in excess

of 400,000 school warrants have

been issued. The amount of the

taxpayers dollars spent through

the County School Office was

over $100,000,000.00. Beginning

July Ist all school personnel

willbe paid on alternate Fridays

rather than twice each month.

The schools will also grant their

employees the privilege of participating in the Tax Sheltered

Annuity Program.

There¡¯s no mistaking Mr. Corn King when he appears in a cornyellow, velvet robe which extends from his size 22 shoes up, over

seven feet to the top of the collar. On his head he wears a custommade size 8 1/4 jewelled, gold crown. Just above normal eye level

on the back of his majestic flowing robe is the Corn King ear-ofcorn emblem, over 111/2* across.

Without his regal clothes, the Corn King Giant stands B*2¡± tall.

His credits include touring four continents as star of his own vaudeville team.

During his appearance, the Corn King Giant will distribute balloons and autographed pictures.
