STEP TWO ( PREWRITE

1. You’ll need this sheet of paper and a copy of the story.

2. Complete A and B below for tomorrow (Tuesday, Oct. 26) to gain access to a computer.

A. You’re going to retell the locker scene from Priscilla’s perspective (starting at “Anyways…”)

Below, list five adjectives that describe her character (remember… S.T.E.A.L.)











B. Retelling the story from Priscilla’s point of view, how would she react to and view the events? Be sure the reader can feel her strong personality. Give her distinctive “voice.” Below write four phrases, actions or thoughts she would experience.

STEP THREE ( COMPOSE YOUR STORY

Follow these directions to find the document you’ll type into.

Open an internet browser ( GCMS Homepage ( scroll down to Block 7W( click Franklin/ English ( click This Week ( Under Monday, 10.25, click link “Priscilla’s Point of View”

After opening that document, scroll to the top of the second page and write the locker scene from Priscilla’s perspective starting with the paragraph that begins “Anyway, up to Melvin’s locker…”. Follow the directions in green on that document.

Keep in mind:

✓ You will not change any dialogue (which is in black print)

✓ Use your answers to A and B above to guide you. I’ve also made a copy of the story that has what you need to change highlighted in green. On the calendar, click on “Another way to look at it” on 10.25

✓ DETAILS, DETAILS, DETAILS WILL MAKE THIS STORY COME ALIVE. THINK S.T.E.A.L. and SIGHT, SOUND, SMELL, TASTE, TOUCH to describe how Priscilla experiences the situation

✓ Proofread, spell check, grammar check, make sure you’ve written in present tense (it’s happening now!!)
