Garbage and Trash Rules and Regulations

Garbage Cans are limited to properly secured containers up to 40-gallons and weighing no more than 60lbs or plastic bags not exceeding 32 gallons and should be placed at the curb.

Bulk materials such as Christmas trees, carpeting, padding, etc., must not exceed forty-eight (48) inches in length and must be rolled and tied and weigh less than 75lbs.

Refrigerators, air conditioners and any other items containing Freon refrigerant will no longer be accepted unless Freon is removed by authorized service agent and a copy of the service invoice is taped to discarded appliance. Hot Water Heaters will be picked up but they must be completely drained and upright.

Not more than ten (10) bags or equivalent number of containers or 2 bulky items will be collected from the curb on collection days. Special Pickup is available for more than ten (10) bags or equivalent containers and more than 2 bulky items by calling 724-887-9400 or emailing pennhills@.

The following items WILL NOT be picked up:

1. Stones, rocks or broken concrete 2. Auto parts or wheels 3. Any vegetation with soil attached to roots 4. Leaf waste, tree limbs, and hedge clippings 5. Ashes from heating plants, furnaces or stoves

E-waste can safely be collected at the curb. E-waste will including: televisions, computers, monitors, VCR and DVD players, fax machines, cable boxes, keyboards, gaming equipment and similar electronic waste. CALL 724-887-9400 or email e-wasteph@ TO SCHEDULE A PICK UP.

Collection will begin at 6:00 A.M. each day. Collections will be one (1) day late for those scheduled on or after a holiday.

Recognized Holidays are: New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas. Garbage Service will be one day late if the actual (not designated) holiday falls during a weekday. If the actual holiday falls during the weekend, GARBAGE SERVICE WILL NOT BE AFFECTED.

KEEP PENN HILLS CLEAN - Do not put garbage out before 4:00 P.M. on day prior to your collection and remove cans from the curb by Midnight on the day of collection.

BACKYARD COLLECTION - Is available to any resident who wants it and there is a charge for this special service. You can make arrangements for this service by calling Allied Waste Services at 1-877-788-9400 or emailing pennhills@.

Special Collections ? Any resident who has materials ordinarily excluded from pick up or excessive quantities of included materials, can arrange for special collection by calling Allied Waste Services at 1-877-788-9400 or emailing pennhills@. The Route Foreman will contact you and provide an estimate before collection is made.
