TSBA Paths to Promise: The Board/Superintendent Roadmap to Student Success WorkshopJanuary 14- East TNJanuary 15-TSBA Headquarters, NashvilleJanuary 22-West TNThis workshop is designed for the School Board and Superintendent to work on creating a strategic plan that is preparing students for relevant pathways. While college remains a worthy goal for many of our students, our Boards must embrace the challenge to prepare them for leadership and for life. Work Force Development must become an essential element in a Board’s strategic plan. Boards need to ensure that their strategic plans are not only focused on strengthening college readiness but also career readiness.During this workshop, participants will learn how to create early post-secondary pathways for their students; to more effectively align programs and coursework to the regional economy and in-demand career opportunities and to expand options for college credit, industry certifications and credentials.TSBA will also launch the release of the “District Data Dashboard” at this workshop. This dashboard is free to all TSBA Member Boards and their respective Superintendents. The dashboard is a gathering of labor market data, academic data and financial data into one location that will help Boards to develop strategic plans that will yield mission critical change in a district.AGENDA8:30 a.m.Registration / Breakfast9:00 a.m.Welcome and IntroductionsDr. Tammy Grissom,TSBA Executive Director9:05 a.m.Why is there a sense of urgency for Dr. Tammy GrissomBoards and Superintendents?Dr. Joseph Goins, Consultant(Research and data will be shared that showsthat by 2025, 60% of Americans will need a workforce certificate, industry certification, college degree or other high-quality credentialsbeyond high school.TSBA will launch the release of their “DistrictData Dashboard”.
