75th SENIOR PGA CHAMPIONSHIP PRESENTED BY KITCHENAID LAUNCHES

PGA SALUTES MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND TRIBUTE TO FALLEN HEROES

Online Photo Mosaic to Support PGA REACH efforts to aid Veterans

PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. – PGA Salutes, an online tribute to honor our military heroes, was launched today by the PGA of America and its philanthropic arm, PGA REACH. PGA Salutes, led by a photographic mosaic, invites golfers nationwide to celebrate Memorial Day weekend by honoring those who paid the ultimate sacrifice.

PGA Salute’s mosaic may be accessed at , and in the process, golf fans also will support funding to aid veterans through the game of golf.

Users can upload photos of themselves or photos of fallen loved ones.  For every photo uploaded, the PGA of America will pay one dollar per photo, up to $25,000.

All funds will enable PGA REACH to facilitate the physical, mental and social rehabilitation of veterans. The mosaic also will appear in an electronic display behind the No. 1 tee, May 20-25, at Harbor Shores in Benton Harbor, Michigan, site of the 75th Senior PGA Championship presented by KitchenAid.

“Each Memorial Day we pause to honor those who served in uniform and valiantly defended our nation,” said PGA of America President Ted Bishop. “The PGA of America and PGA REACH encourage golf fans everywhere to heighten that tribute through this unique online mosaic. The affection for our heroes grows deeper with the years, and we find it significant the role that golf plays in brightening the spirits of those veterans with us today.”

PGA REACH funds from the mosaic project will deliver a new level of enjoyment through golf that enables our nation’s heroes to once again be active and participate in a game that enhances their mental, social, physical and emotional well-being. PGA REACH builds this foundation through PGA Sections and their PGA Professionals, in partnership with local Veterans Administration Healthcare Systems.

Participants will submit an email address, a photo and a comment via a mobile device or desktop. The PGA of America will review photos and comments and upload to the mosaic. Once a user’s photo is uploaded, an email reply with be returned containing a link to the photo and icons to share with the user’s social channels.
