Florida End-of-Course (EOC) Assessment Parent LetterMay 2016Dear Parent/Guardian of a Polk School District Student:Polk County Students who need to take or retake a Florida End-of-Course (EOC) Assessment may participate in the Summer Session during the Florida Department of Education’s (FDOE) window of July 18 - 21, 2016. Our district will administer the following assessments: FSA Algebra 1 EOC (For students who completed Algebra 1 for the first time in the 2014-15 or 2015-16 school years)Algebra 1 EOC Retake (For students who completed Algebra 1 for the first time prior to the 2014-15 school year)FSA Geometry EOCFSA Algebra 2 EOCNGSSS Biology EOCNGSSS Civics EOCNGSSS US History EOCRegistration: The online registration form must be completed and submitted by the student/parent by June 24, 2016. The registration form can be accessed at If you cannot access the online form, please visit one of the testing sites prior to the June 24th deadline and they can assist you with registration. Submission of your registration form will reserve a spot for your student and provide us with the necessary information to enter the student into the state testing platforms. The Testing Coordinator at your testing site will contact you via email or phone by July 14th to verify registration and provide you with additional information, such as testing procedures and specific testing times. No late registration is available for these assessments. Students may register to take the EOCs without participating in the Algebra 1 EOC and/or Course Recovery Program. Additional Information: The FSA EOC exams involve two testing sessions over two days. These sessions are 90 minutes each, but the student may have up to 3 ? hours each day. For the science and history EOC exams, as well as the Algebra 1 EOC Retake, students are required to sit for at least 80 minutes of each assessment and will not be permitted to leave (even if completed and submitted) prior to this time limit. For most students, each EOC takes approximately 3 hours to complete; however, students may continue testing until the end of the school day in order to complete the assessment. Snacks or lunch will not be provided. However, a 30-minute break is provided for a student to eat after the state-required 160-minute sitting for the non-FSA assessments. Students are required to practice using an online test prior to the actual assessment.
