Stephan Greene

January 21, 1962 --- October 11, 2019

On a special day 57 years ago, January 21, 1962, God blessed James E. Greene, and the late Evelyn Smith Greene with a beautiful son, adding to the union of their two daughters. They named him Stephan. Who later became a big brother

to a little sister. On the evening of Friday, October 11, 2019, God saw that Stephan was tired and his journey here was done, so he extended his hands to

him, and welcomed him home, Stephan accepted.

Stephan was a Bulloch County native and was a graduate of the 1980 Class of Statesboro High School. On October 15, 1980, Stephan joined the United States

Air Force as an airplane mechanic. After his time in the Air Force, Stephan returned home to Statesboro, Georgia, where we worked as a mechanic with his father. Stephan loved working on automobiles; his specialty was motorcycles

which he loved to ride and rode proudly. He often studied the dictionary, determined to know the meaning of every word. Stephan was very smart and inquisitive. At one time he spent lots of time drawing the things he had seen and envisioned. He was an artist at heart, but for some reason it wasn't enough, the world seemed to be calling him. Being the free spirited person that he was he packed up his motorcycle and began traveling to small towns, states, and many

places over the years, sleeping outside and just enjoying God's beautiful creations. Stephan refused to sleep inside. He was a protector to many and saw a

lot of what we couldn't while sleeping in our beds. HE DID IT HIS WAY.

Stephan is preceded in death by his loving mother, Evelyn Smith Greene; his grandparents, O.C. and Euncie Smith; Richard and Agnes Greene (Warner), one

uncle, two aunts, two step-aunts, and six step-uncles.

Stephan leaves to cherish his memories a loving father James E. Greene (Cora) of Statesboro, Georgia; a loving daughter Vanessa (Lorenzo) Pearsall of Statesboro, Georgia; three sisters, Jeanette Curtis, and Gwendolyn Hall of Statesboro, Georgia; six grandchildren, Valencia, Dorian, Van, Madison,

London Melody, Logan; six nephews, Cedric, La'Moine, Cassius, La'Vaughn, Christopher, and James; one niece, Toni Evelyn; one uncle, O.C. Smith of Clarksville, Tennessee; five aunts, Margarette Byrd of Columbus, Ohio, Dorothy Simmons of Statesboro, Ga., Betty Sue Spivey of Arlington, Texas,

Mary Alice Smith of Dayton, Ohio, and Patricia Hunter of Statesboro, Ga., and five step-sisters, two step-uncles, one step-aunt, and a host of other relatives and

friends.
