Dr. Ronnie TarchichiSuperintendentPennsauken Public Schools Nicholas Perry President Board of Education September 15, 2020Dear Pennsauken Families:Remote learning for Pennsauken Public Schools has begun. I would like to take this opportunity to review some expectations for our learners and keys to success for virtual school. Keep in mind, you are in school! The virtual classroom should be treated the same as the physical classroom. Be on time. If a student is late, they must comment in the chat that they are present. Attendance is taken every day and students will be marked e prepared.Ask questions in the chat and/or raise your hand. Do NOT have side conversations in the chat. If for some reason a student needs to leave the Meeting, they should comment in the chat.Use polite and appropriate language.Google Meetings are designed for students to engage in learning. To prevent disruptions to the learning environment, parents/guardians should not actively participate in sessions. Parents/guardians may assist their child with technology. Especially with synchronous learning, any support needed should be coming from the teacher. Teachers will establish breaks for students based on the content and the age level. Please allow your child to take a break during these established times in order to maintain the pace and instruction for all students. If a parent/guardian has a question, please email your child’s teacher. Remote learning has been successful and we love educating your child. We must remember that it is a collective effort between families and schools. We look forward to continuing to work with you for your child’s success. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact your child’s teacher or principal.Sincerely,Caroline SteerDirector of Elementary EducationPennsauken Public Schools1695 Hylton Rd.Pennsauken, NJ 08110caroline.steer@ ................
